I've been seeing this restaurant as one of the most reviewed (and maybe rated) Indian restaurant around. I even found a Groupon for it and decided to grab takeout dinner a few nights before I left for California. And I can see why it's highly rated! It's located next to a small church? and towing company on the corner of NE 56th St and Roosevelt Way NE in the "business" district in Roosevelt. There was a tiny parking lot across of the restaurant and street parking around. Finding parking could be difficult during dinner rush hours. My boyfriend had to stay in the car to wait for me to run in to pick up the order.

Taste of India has been on my radar for some time since it looked to be a really highly rated Indian restaurant in the greater Seattle area. Since I love scoping delicious restaurants, we decided check this place off of the list! We paid the restaurant a visit on a Friday around 6pm and were seated promptly. The ambience of the restaurant is cozy - there are both outdoor and indoor seating arrangements. Though due to the layout, the ceilings are a bit low and the tables are a bit close to each other and this gives the impression that things by be a bit crammed, but I didn't seem to mind it at all. The service is decently fast, though when it gets closer to the busy hours of the restaurant, you may have to wave down your server, but that's usually expected during these times.

Lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. Service was attentive. Restroom took me a while to find but it's on the left past kitchen/bar area. The outside seating is pleasant! Surprised by the complimentary samosas which were tasty. Tried the pineapple curry with paneer which was very flavorful! Pineapple were small chunks that seemed to be the canned kind. Paneer was soft and bouncy which was nice. Sometimes at other places paneer is hard and stiff. Not sure how it is supposed to be but I liked the soft and noun ones of it.

Highly rated here on Yelp and rightfully so! We arrived on a Friday night to a packed restaurant. We opted to sit in their outdoor dining area, which is a bold choice in November but their heaters made temp a non-issue. Overall service was quick and efficient. They run a tight ship here with different team members keeping us happy from ordering to paying the bill.

Honestly not even from here but when in the state I try to make my way here. The PANEER NAAN is fantastic when it comes out hot its so fluffy and comforting it feels like a soft hug. The CHICKEN TIKKA has a sauce that is buttery and not at all meaty. Definitely one of the better ones I have had with decent quality chicken. I generally like more white meat but I think I am in the minority. The SAMOSAS never disappoint. We got half beef and half veggie. They are massive and the breading part is so good I can't get enough. Even though I was full I ate a full samosa. You know its good when you can't stop.... or maybe I am just fat.
